Health, Safety, Environmental & Security (HSES) Specialist

What You’ll Do Lead Safety & Compliance Programs- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSES programs to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
- Monitor site operations and recommend improvements to enhance safety, environmental performance, and efficiency
- Maintain awareness of emerging regulations and translate them into site action plans
- Serve as site Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC)
- Maintain and execute emergency response plans in alignment with corporate standards
- Coordinate drills, training, and readiness activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental permits and regulations
- Coordinate environmental monitoring and testing programs
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports
- Establish accountability systems to ensure incidents are reported and investigated
- Partner with supervisors to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Drive continuous improvement in safety practices
- Develop and deliver HSES training programs
- Coordinate respiratory protection and fit-testing programs
- Promote a strong safety culture through coaching and collaboration
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and emergency mutual-aid partners
- Coordinate HSES equipment and maintenance needs with site teams
- Support leadership with HSES reporting and performance insights
- HS diploma required
- 5+ years in chemical manufacturing, process operations, or HSE/safety role
- Emergency response experience (e.g., responder, firefighter, EMT, or industrial emergency team)
- Knowledge of U.S. safety and environmental regulations in manufacturing
- Strong project and priority management in fast-paced environments
- Ability to influence and collaborate across departments
- Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders
- Analytical problem-solving and process troubleshooting ability
- Highly organized, adaptable, and action-oriented
- Experience in multinational or global manufacturing environments
- Familiarity working with Japanese-headquartered organizations
