Instrument and Controls Technician at Aquatech’s service center in Pasadena, TX. Handles mobile assets and water treatment chemicals business operations.
Job Description- Troubleshooting electrical equipment such as motors, variable frequency drives, and motorized valves.
- Performing continuity, megger, and ground fault testing.
- Maintaining Allen‑Bradley PLC and HMI for machine‑mounted controls.
- Calibrating instruments, analyzers, and valve positioners.
- Providing advice on spare parts maintenance and inventory.
- Preparing calibration and maintenance reports.
- Coordinating with subcontractors for work requiring outside contractors.
- Performing housekeeping duties as needed.
- Serving as the electrical maintenance lead and scheduling preventative maintenance on all electrical and electronic components in the facility and rental assets.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with modern instrumentation and control equipment (transmitters, automatic valves, analyzers, sensors, VFD).
- Monitoring performance of rotating equipment.
- Effective communication with customers and positive attitude.
- Planning and managing multiple tasks or projects.
- Applying common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Attention to detail and teamwork.
- Experience at an industrial water treatment plant with technologies such as Pre‑Treatment, Demineralization, Reverse Osmosis, Ultra‑Filtration, EDI, Thermal Desalination, and Zero‑Liquid Discharge.
- Haz Waste Plus safety training or certification is a plus.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
