The Service Technician plays a key role in maintaining and restoring high‑performance X‑ray systems and subsystems. This role requires hands‑on technical expertise and a commitment to safe, accurate service.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair high‑voltage X‑ray generators, power supplies, control boards, and inverter modules.
- Perform X‑ray tube testing, conditioning, and evaluation, including vacuum integrity, filament, cathode, and anode checks.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and thermal issues using schematics, high‑voltage diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- Execute preventive maintenance on generators, tubes, cooling systems, and interlock circuits.
- Document repair activities, test results, parts usage, and failure analysis in detailed service reports.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and ESD protocols.
- Assist with RMA evaluations, root‑cause analysis, and refurbishment processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and communicate with customers regarding repair status, findings, and recommendations.
- Support in‑house service operations and field assignments, traveling up to 30% domestically and internationally.
- Technical diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of high‑voltage circuits, power electronics, transformers, and three‑phase/single‑phase systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical service manuals.
- Hands‑on experience using oscilloscopes, high‑voltage probes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Understanding of radiation safety principles and regulatory requirements.
- Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Capability to work safely in environments involving high voltage and X‑ray systems, including lifting 40–50 lbs.
- 2–5 years of experience servicing X‑ray generators, X‑ray tubes, or similar high‑voltage imaging systems.
- Experience in refurbishment, failure analysis, or component‑level board repair.
- Knowledge of cooling technologies (oil, water, or forced air) used in imaging equipment.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 9001 or similar quality standards).
