Location: Pasadena, Texas
Process Engineering ManagerThe Process Engineering Manager will develop and sustain expertise related to specific chemical processes and apply them to unit operations. The manager will implement improvements to existing plant processes, targeting yield improvement, raw material reduction, increased throughput, process reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and unit process safety. This role leads a team of Process and Process Control Engineers to drive efficiencies, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance while providing mentorship to unit Process Engineers.
PrioritizedEssential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Continuous development of technical competency of engineers and operational personnel for highly hazardous chemical processes
- Maintain and develop expertise in surfactant technology
- Key management role for driving process improvement and efficiency for selected plants
- Key technical manager for driving compliance with all aspects of PSM in areas of responsibility
- Ensure adequate engineering support for development of commissioning, start‑up plans, procedures, and execution
- Support development and review of equipment specifications, engineering calculations, relief device design, flare header design/sizing, etc., using ASPEN and other modeling programs
- Provide support for Process Safety Management reviews and recommendations from Hazard Reviews, LOPA, IPL, SIS requirements, MOC, PSSR, etc.
- Ensure activities comply with the integrated management system, including safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements
- Work collaboratively with team members of diverse backgrounds and perspectives
- Assist employees in achieving Indorama company goals and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and complete required training programs
- B.S. or M.S. Degree – Chemical Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a highly hazardous chemical operational environment
- 5 years of combined experience in Process Engineering and/or Operations
- 3 years of previous management experience in Process Engineering or Operations in highly hazardous chemical environment
