Project Engineer, Operations Engineer

Project Engineer – Ethylene Oxide Production

Responsible for supporting project managers on large capital projects ranging from $20k to $2,000k, and managing smaller projects directly from design through completion.

• SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) – Ensure all project designs comply with industry and company safety standards, lead safety performance, address contractor safety issues, support PHAs, MOCs, and maintain safety policies.
• Project Engineering – Serve as technical owner for design package quality, provide technical direction to contractors, maintain design integrity during construction and commissioning, support operations during start‑up, and update technical records.
• Project Management – Develop scope, budget, and schedule; prepare Project Execution Plans; lead FEL process and stage‑gate deliverables; manage procurement and bid packages; coordinate resources; develop risk management plans; present to senior management; close projects on time.
• Team Management – Assemble and manage a cross‑functional team; oversee contractor performance; engage plant O&M personnel; facilitate communication and accountability.

• B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of chemical plant experience; project experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive leadership, change‑management, and team‑building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and present updates to management.

• Must lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or light daily handling.
• Capability to climb ladders and stairs.
• Work may occur inside and outside; exposure to temperature extremes, noise, chemicals, and weather conditions.
• Visual and hearing acuity adequate for reading documents and hearing conversation at normal levels.

• Achieve SHE metric targets for safety and environmental incidents.
• Deliver projects that meet stated objectives, budget, schedule, and compliance standards.
• Provide timely project status reporting and metric tracking.
