Low Voltage Mechanical Engineer

LV OEM Mechanical Engineer (SWB / Switch Racks)

Must-Have Requirements

• 3–7+ years LV OEM / switch gear / power distribution experience
• Hands-on experience with:
• Switchboards (SWB)
• Switch racks / rack-mounted systems
• Mechanical design experience (layouts, enclosures, structural supports)
• CAD proficiency (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar)
• BOM creation + engineering documentation
• Knowledge of UL / NEC standards

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Mechanical layout/design of SWB and switch rack systems
• Create drawings (GA + fabrication) and BOMs
• Coordinate with electrical engineering on component placement
• Support manufacturing / shop floor (fit-up, tolerances, build issues)
• Drive DFM and cost improvements
• Handle custom / ETO configurations

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• ETO (engineered-to-order) environment experience
• Thermal / heat dissipation knowledge
• Sheet metal / enclosure design background
• Experience with Client, Siemens, Schneider, ABB platforms
• Electrical logic – review/redline - build

Candidate Profile

• Strong mechanical problem solver (not just CAD)
• Experience working closely with production teams
• Comfortable in fast-paced, custom build environments
• Can troubleshoot and make real-time design decisions
