• Establish design criteria for mechanical data sheets, prepare mechanical specifications, evaluate bids, and manage contracts for all tagged mechanical equipment on the project.
• Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or material selection with supportive material.
• Collect, assimilate, and manage data for mechanical engineering work.
• Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
• Demonstrate superior engineering skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines and construction.
• Work with client to resolve mechanical problems.
• Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering as needed.

• 7+ years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial design.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited engineering school.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
• Previous relevant EPC company experience.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering and design and familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with procurement, project controls, construction project managers, and clients.
• Proven track record of accomplishment as a design engineer on industrial projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish respect and credibility through actions, communications, understanding, and personal presence.
• Ability to work with others to achieve job goals.

• Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Sit for long periods of time.
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.

Remote and onsite work. Visits to job sites may be required on occasion as needed.
