The Process Engineer is responsible for continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational reliability across the manufacturing units. The engineer collaborates with operations, maintenance, technical, and leadership teams to implement sustainable improvements aligned with site strategic objectives.
ResponsibilitiesProcess Engineering
- Identify, define and drive preventative and corrective actions to ensure sustainable improvement initiatives across safety, environmental, reliability, quality, and cost.
- Lead project pre‑studies and technical evaluations to support future improvements and investments. Prepare scope packages for implementation by the front‑line team or for further study by the CAPEX team.
- Keep job knowledge current with process technologies, product specifications, and engineering technology & specifications.
- Support Maintenance and Production in troubleshooting problems as needed by providing technical guidance and expertise, identifying performance gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Position supports 24hr operation and may require overtime to meet plant needs and site deadlines.
- Participate in PHA/HAZOP to support the safe design and operations of the facilities.
Performance Improvement
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for events with a severity of 3 or higher with support from the Production, Maintenance Technical, and HSSE teams. The role will establish the investigation team, schedule and lead investigation meetings, document the findings in the formal RCA report and coordinate and track the remediation process to completion.
- Together with the maintenance reliability team, provide investigation support and scope development work for Bad Actor projects and long‑term improvements.
- Ensure a meeting cadence to conduct Level 2 Problem Solving exercises to maintain continuous improvement by routinely investigating smaller events and using a work process that identifies and mitigates all causes.
- Coordinate and execute production test‑runs, including resource planning, readiness review, and results evaluation.
Risk and Change Management
- Actively contribute to the site loss control performance by conducting loss control tours as assigned, identifying, reporting, and mitigating safety hazards that could cause harm to personnel and equipment.
- Management of Change (MOC) – Lead and coordinate MOCs to align the Production, Maintenance and Technical teams, and ensure MOCs are executed in a proper manner consistent with internal engineering and general industry standards. Align MOC/RCA actions with the Production, Maintenance, and Technical teams.
Interfaces
- Attend the morning Unit production meeting. Ensure OPEX issues are identified, discussed and actions taken to mitigate problems and prevent recurrence. Regularly follow‑up actions and resolutions.
- Train and coach site personnel on OPEX principles and tools.

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (other technical degrees will be considered depending upon the experience level of the individual).
