Job Title:
Process Engineering Manager

Location:
Pasadena, Texas

Develop and sustain expertise related to specific chemical processes and their application to chemical unit operations. Implement improvements to existing chemical plant processes in areas of yield improvement, raw materials reduction, increased throughput, process reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and unit process safety.

Manage a team of Process and Process Control Engineers to drive improvements in throughput, efficiency, and sustainability, provide mentorship to unit Process Engineers, and support FEL package development, commissioning, and startup planning. Ensure capital project scopes align with business needs and justification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuous development of technical competency of engineers and operational personnel for highly hazardous chemical processes.
  • Maintain and develop expertise in surfactant technology.
  • Drive process improvement and efficiency for selected plants.
  • Act as key technical manager for compliance with all aspects of Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Provide engineering support for development of commissioning/start‑up plans, procedures, and execution.
  • Assist in development and review of equipment specifications, engineering calculations, relief device design, flare header design/sizing, and use of ASPEN and other modeling programs.
  • Support Process Safety Management reviews and recommendations from Hazard Reviews, LOPA, IPL, SIS requirements, MOC, PSSR, etc.
  • Ensure activities comply with the integrated management system (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality, and responsible care requirements).
  • Work presence in the workplace regularly and be willing to work overtime as needed to meet daily production objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Assist in achieving company goals and perform duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives and complete company‑required training programs.
Education / Experience / Skills Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. Degree – Chemical Engineering AND a minimum of 7 years of experience in highly hazardous chemical operational environment.
  • 5 years of combined experience in Process Engineering and/or Operations.
  • 3 years of previous management experience in Process Engineering or Operations in a highly hazardous chemical environment.
