Role SummaryCinemark Assistant Managers assist in the overall operation of the theatre. They ensure policies and procedures are being followed and operational standards are achieved. They are cross‑trained in all departments to support where needed and provide inspirational training to all employees. The Assistant Manager can advance to Senior Assistant Manager, Theatre Manager, or General Manager after completing the Management Accreditation Program and working at least six months.
Responsibilities- Follow the direction of the General Manager
- Support General Manager’s decisions in communication with staff
- Work in all departments and theatre job functions
- Train and coach team members in their specific roles
- Assist in preparing administrative and special reports for the General Manager
- Observe and participate in the inspection of the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, Cinemark property, roof, exterior signage, and equipment condition
- Report the need for building, property, and equipment repairs to the General Manager
- Ensure that theatre team members follow the dress code
- Interact with guests to improve service and ensure superior customer service from all team members
- Learn and enforce policies and procedures as established in Cinemark’s Guidelines fairly and consistently
- Report all employee relations issues to the General Manager (or to if the GM is absent)
- Follow the Employee Relations Reporting Protocol
- Maintain a high work‑ethic standard and code of conduct
- Identify and sanitize high‑contact areas for employees and guests
- Properly utilize personal protective equipment while performing tasks
- Adapt to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks
- Address any safety or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.)
- Perform other work‑related duties as assigned
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school or GED preferred
- Complete three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program
- Complete basic food‑handling training and obtain any required local or state certification, health card, or food‑handler permit
- Complete Safe Alcohol Service training if working with alcohol
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Require regular and consistent attendance
- Maintain an energetic and friendly attitude during each shift
- Provide excellent guest service
- Demonstrate accurate cash handling and basic math skills
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with all ages, genders, and personalities; must be able to converse and comprehend English
- Work well in a team environment and independently
- Follow direction and respond with a sense of urgency
- Exhibit excellent time‑management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Be capable of training and leading others
- Resolve conflict effectively
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theatre
- Noise level may be moderate to high at times
- Work in a standing position for extended periods
