Overview
Technically supports the Noninvasive Vascular Lab in providing noninvasive vascular studies in coordination with the department's medical and technical team and in compliance with established standards.
Responsibilities- Perform studies and associated paperwork during an 8-hour shift without compromising quality or service.
- Maintain technical quality as per semi-annual chart review surveys.
- Conduct studies within the employee’s Tech Level.
- Provide technical support for noninvasive vascular diagnostic studies for patients aged pediatric to geriatric.
- Assist with vein injections and associated imaging.
- Collaborate with vascular surgeons and neurologists in procedures and assist with interpretive outcomes of special procedures.
- Work independently with ongoing and periodic review through evaluation of results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized/technical training or combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education.
- Certification of completion of a sonography program with emphasis in vascular technology.
- At least 24 months of experience performing noninvasive vascular studies.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
- Registered Vascular Technologist - RVT (ARDMS) OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) OR Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography [RT(VS)].
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association.
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City); if no card upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days and renewed before expiration.
Hourly rate range: $53.00 – $87.45.
