Renal Specialists of Houston is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator II to lead the day-to-day execution of clinical trials at our Pasadena research site. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated research professional who thrives in a patient-focused environment and wants to play a key role in bringing innovative therapies to patients with chronic kidney disease and related conditions.

As a Clinical Research Coordinator II, you will partner closely with investigators, patients, sponsors, and research leadership to drive study enrollment, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality research outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to manage studies from startup through closeout while helping shape the future of nephrology care.

What You’ll Do Lead Clinical Trial Execution
  • Manage assigned clinical trials in accordance with protocol requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and site SOPs.
  • Review and understand study protocols, eligibility criteria, visit schedules, and study procedures.
  • Coordinate all participant visits and study-related activities from screening through study completion.
  • Ensure protocol compliance and proactively prevent protocol deviations.
  • Identify, screen, and recruit eligible patients for clinical research studies.
  • Educate patients on study opportunities and facilitate informed consent discussions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinic staff, and research leadership to maximize enrollment and retention.
  • Partner with centralized research teams to achieve and exceed enrollment goals.
Deliver High-Quality Clinical Research
  • Perform study procedures including:
    • Vital signs
    • Height and weight measurements
    • Blood collection and specimen processing
    • ECGs
    • Investigational product accountability
  • Collect, document, and enter study data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain source documentation and case report forms in accordance with ALCOA principles and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all study records are audit-ready at all times.
Ensure Regulatory & Safety Compliance
  • Report adverse events and serious adverse events according to protocol, sponsor, IRB, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare for sponsor monitoring visits and respond promptly to follow-up requests.
  • Maintain temperature logs, accountability records, training documentation, and essential study files.
  • Support site readiness for audits, inspections, and sponsor visits.
  • Train clinic staff on study requirements and document training completion.
  • Coordinate with practice leadership to ensure adequate space, staffing, and resources for study execution.
  • Identify workflow improvements that enhance recruitment, enrollment, and study efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for patients, providers, sponsors, and research partners.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of clinical research coordination experience.
  • Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and clinical trial operations.
  • Experience obtaining informed consent and managing study participants.
  • Ability to perform basic clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, vital signs, specimen processing, and ECGs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple studies and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
  • Medical Assistant Certification.
  • ACRP or SOCRA certification.
  • GCP and/or IATA certification.
  • Experience in nephrology, chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis, vascular access, or related therapeutic areas.
