The Medical Lab Technician collects blood, performs test, inputs patient information and test results into computer, performs computer functions as needed and assists in other duties as directed by laboratory supervisor/manager. The Medical Lab Technician is proficient in the following disciplines:
Hematology, Chemistry, Immunohematology (Blood Bank), POCT, and microscopic urine.

• Accepts responsibility for own actions; offers and accepts constructive criticism in a non – defensive manner.
• Adheres to hospital attendance and tardiness policy. Appropriately clocks in/out and returns from break and lunch on time.
• Adheres to schedule and provides coverage in assigned areas. Adaptable to changes in work flows.
• Adjusts break and lunch times to ensure appropriate department coverage for optimal patient care.
• All employees will be held accountable for attending training regarding Code of Conduct annually.
• Appropriate use and inventory of reagents and supplies (initial/date all opened reagents).
• Assists in maintaining general cleanliness and safety of work area to ensure that work area is clean and free of safety hazards.
• Can perform venipuncture and capillary (finger & heel) sticks on infants, children and adults.
