Project Scope
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud HCM Functional Analyst with strong hands-on expertise in Benefits, Absence Management, and Core HR
, along with advisory knowledge of Payroll and Time & Labor
, to support and optimize our Oracle Cloud HCM environment. This role will play a critical part in maintaining operational stability, improving configuration quality, directly supporting benefits, absence, and core HR processes, and advising on payroll and time-related impacts across the Oracle HCM ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is a highly hands-on Oracle HCM practitioner who can directly configure and support Benefits, Absence Management, and Core HR, while serving as a trusted functional advisor for Payroll and Time & Labor. This role requires a strong understanding of how employee, assignment, absence, benefits, time, and payroll data interact, with emphasis on providing direct operational support where owned and informed advisory guidance where payroll and time dependencies exist.
This position will initially work onsite full-time in the Houston area to facilitate collaboration with the HR Systems team and business stakeholders. A hybrid schedule may be considered once the individual is fully established and operating independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a functional advisor for Oracle Payroll and Time & Labor, providing guidance on configuration design, system behavior, business process alignment, and downstream impacts to pay and employee data.
- Partner with Payroll Operations, HR Operations, and HR Systems stakeholders to review payroll- and time-related questions, assess root cause, recommend solutions, and support issue resolution without owning payroll processing or time administration activities.
- Advise on Time & Labor configuration considerations, including time entry rules, schedules, approvals, validations, exceptions, overtime, premiums, and other pay-impacting time calculations.
- Analyze payroll and time calculation discrepancies from a functional configuration perspective and provide recommendations for corrective actions, preventative controls, and escalation where appropriate.
- Support impact assessments, testing, validation, and stakeholder reviews for payroll- and time-related changes, enhancements, quarterly updates, and production fixes.
- Document payroll and time advisory guidance, configuration dependencies, issue resolution recommendations, controls, and support procedures to strengthen knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Cloud HCM functional experience.
- Strong hands-on functional expertise in Core HR, Benefits Administration, Absence Management, Fast Formulas, and User Defined Tables.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Payroll and Oracle Time & Labor, with ability to advise on configuration dependencies, downstream impacts, testing, and issue resolution.
- Experience directly supporting benefits administration and Open Enrollment, including eligibility, rates, deductions, life events, enrollment processing, and downstream impacts.
- Experience directly configuring and supporting absence plans, accruals, eligibility, absence-related Fast Formulas, absence processing, and related employee or manager issue resolution.
- Experience supporting Core HR configuration, worker lifecycle transactions, assignment data, organizations, jobs, journeys, locations, and employee data integrity.
- Strong understanding of Oracle HCM data structures, assignment data, worker lifecycle events, configuration frameworks, security considerations, and integration dependencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Oracle HCM quarterly releases and regression testing.
