Nexus Integrity Management, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Safety & Training Manager to lead our company’s safety programs and employee training initiatives. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety and continuous learning across the organization. The Safety & Training Manager will oversee employee onboarding, deliver classroom and field training, serve as an Operator Qualification (OQ) evaluator, and ensure that Nexus maintains compliance with regulatory bodies such as FERC, PHMSA, OSHA, and other applicable authorities.
This role requires a commanding but approachable presence, strong communication skills, and the ability to motivate employees in both office and field environments.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess jobsite safety, identify hazards, and enforce compliance with Nexus policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as an OQ evaluator and obtain/maintain OQ Master Evaluator certification.
- Oversee corrective actions and remedial training following safety incidents or compliance gaps.
- Design, implement, and deliver engaging onboarding programs for new hires.
- Lead annual refresher training (January) and targeted remedial training as needed.
- Develop training schedules, instructional materials, and evaluation methods that align with Nexus procedures and industry regulations.
- Ensure effective communication of task, condition, and standard to employees.
- Motivate and inspire participation, maintaining classroom control while creating a professional, inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including FERC, PHMSA, and OSHA requirements.
- Administer compliance and contractor management platforms including Avetta, Veriforce, EWN, NCCER, and ISNetworld.
- Ensure all safety and training records are accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
- Partner with the Compliance Administrator to ensure consistent application of safety and training programs across all Nexus operations.
- Report directly to the CEO with updates on compliance status, training effectiveness, and field safety performance.
- Serve as a credible, approachable resource for both field and office staff, building trust while enforcing accountability.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Training & Development, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
- Safety, training, or compliance experience in midstream and distribution natural gas strongly preferred.
- Experience with Avetta, Veriforce, EWN, NCCER, and ISNetworld platforms preferred.
- OQ Master Evaluator certification strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within six months).
- Knowledge of FERC, PHMSA, OSHA, and CFR standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to field locations across multiple states.
- Commanding presence with ability to motivate, inspire, and maintain classroom control.
- Self-starter with proven problem-solving ability.
