HSSE Compliance Superintendent
The HSSE Compliance Superintendent position is responsible for compliance functions to improve coordination of site HSSE activities. The leader is expected to collaborate with the HSSE team, KNA site leaders, and employees in the development strategy and implementation of world‑class procedures, policies, safe work practices and management systems that prevent illnesses and injuries, prevent asset loss, assure regulatory compliance, and assist facilities in achieving plant and corporate HSSE goals.
Major areas of responsibility include policy‑focused field safety audits, IH system assessments for specific work tasks/areas, contractor safety, management system support, behavioral‑based safety support, and pursuing VPP achievement with assistance of the HSSE Manager.
- Coordinating activities of the HSSE staff to ensure delivery of safety and compliance services.
- Providing leadership and consultative services to management in the development of rules, policies, and procedures, change management and roll‑out strategy, assisting management in implementation, providing accurate and timely data for decision‑making, and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to create sustainability and intuitiveness for the customer.
- Coordinating the KNA safety activities and policies within those of contractors, and leading and participating in site employee safety committees and teams devoted to specific safety issues.
- Developing the specific HSSE programs and site needs to optimize the performance of the site HSSE group in collaboration with the site safety team, production, and maintenance leaders.
- Prioritizing workload, communicating regularly with stakeholders, providing guidance and coaching, offering training and professional development, and addressing tasks outside routine duties to remain challenged.
