Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Location:
Pasadena, TX 77502
Schedule:
Full-Time |
Hours:
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Occasional OT until 5:00 PM)
Pay: $20–$24/hour
Position OverviewOur client is seeking a hands‑on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations, drive accuracy, and support efficient materials movement in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations
- Verify shipments against bills of lading, invoices, and orders
- Prepare and process shipping documentation
- Investigate and resolve damages, shortages, and discrepancies
- Coordinate with carriers and internal departments
- Oversee packing, labeling, sealing, and staging of materials
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies
- Ensure outgoing shipments meet quality and customer standards
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment
- Train, coach, and evaluate department staff
- Enforce safety, quality, and process standards
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and issues
- Review reports and conduct operational audits
- Drive continuous improvement and Lean practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse/manufacturing operations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong root cause analysis and problem‑solving skills
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing (or willingness to learn)
- Forklift experience preferred
- International shipping experience preferred
- Calibration experience is a plus
- Experience managing direct reports and leading teams
- Experience with Traverse software preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to operate hand trucks and lift equipment
