Ethylene oxide (EO) is an important building block for the preparation of a wide variety of EO derivatives (EODs), including various surfactants and a host of other chemical intermediates such as glycol ethers, polyethlene glycols, ethanolamines and alkyl alkanolamines.
INEOS Oxide is one of the world’s leading producers of ethylene oxide and ethylene oxide derivatives. We currently have a total EO and EOD capacity of 920 kta spread across five different production units throughout Europe and the US. Our EO project in the US is targeting the fast‑growing merchant EO market, building on our experience and leadership position in Europe.

The Maintenance Millwright Technician will apply their technical expertise daily to ensure the safe and reliable operation of site mechanical equipment. The role involves executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities. The technician is responsible for safe, efficient, and quality repairs of mechanical equipment to maintain reliable plant operations. The role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and collaborates with Maintenance Planners, Reliability Specialists, and Reliability Engineers.
Responsibilitiesand Accountabilities

- Visibly supports and promotes the INEOS 20 Principles and the culture of prevention.
- Ensures all activities comply with company, local, state, federal, and health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Provides safety improvement recommendations for existing processes.
- Reviews work scope to identify potential safety or reliability hazards.
- Initiates proper safety reviews (e.g., temporary job plan, confined space, hot work) as required.
- Responds to emergency protocols during shutdowns and startups.
- Manufacturing Excellence
- Executes work per maintenance procedures and recommends procedural improvements or notes discrepancies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Supports maintenance of asset condition per INEOS Asset Care guidelines.
- Coordinates with Asset Work Execution Supervisors on larger, complex jobs, verifying clear understanding of scope and timelines.
- Troubleshoots failed or under‑performing equipment to identify and eliminate root causes in collaboration with Reliability Specialists or Engineers.
- Serves as an elevated technical resource in maintenance repair techniques for the asset.
- Ensures PM compliance, schedule compliance, and backlog management for mechanical assets.
- Supports engineering project teams that install, modify, or affect mechanical equipment.
- Follows project progress to ensure correct installation of mechanical equipment and proper parameter setting for reliable operation.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 3 years of maintenance experience in a chemical, refinery, or industrial environment.
- NCCER Millwright Certification preferred.
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Experience with SAP plant maintenance modules.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of petrochemical process and personal safety practices, including energy isolation, lockout/tagout, work permitting, confined space entry, working from heights, hazard communication, lifting, and MOC.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and rotating equipment installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
