Location:

Pasadena, TX 77507

Shift: M-F 7am-4pm with some OT possible. Must be available to travel as required.

Pay: $35-$45/Hour DOE. Must have valid drivers license.

Must have knowledge and experience with reciprocal equipment, pumps, and compressors.

Duties
  • Responsible for the supervision, coordination, and proper work assignments of Field Mechanics.
  • Assist in the scheduling of field service appointments according to the work priority and maintains an orderly flow of work.
  • Service and provide preventive and corrective field mechanical service on Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressors. Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components and equipment to ensure proper alignment, balance, and tolerances.
  • Identify and communicate work-related deficiencies to Field/Shop Service Manager due to additional customer/production specifications or requirements along with changes in equipment/technology.
  • May be required to conduct on-the-job training for new hires and/or employees who require refresher training. Complete training related forms and submit them to the document control manager.
  • Maintain safe operations by supervising staff to obey safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform field maintenance tasks including equipment troubleshooting, installation/removal, and repair.
  • Remove, rebuild, and clean compressor rotors.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Replace, rebuild, and install gear boxes.
  • Assist in the performance management of staff including corrective action, discipline, competency assessments, and annual performance reviews.
  • Advise customers of necessary repair services and make recommendations for preventative maintenance.
  • Document actions by completing field/performance/quality logs/forms.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and reports for document control.
  • Perform quarterly and annual work-related assessments such as quizzes, hands-on tests, verbal protocols, and on-the-job verification.
Key Activities
  • Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; recommend changes and improvements to existing standards; participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the selection of new hires; provide and/or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies and implement discipline procedures when required.
  • Inspect equipment by checking bearing clearances, rotor conditions, etc.
  • Perform compressor repairs with disassembly (including mechanical seal removal).
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Install, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul various types of compressors.
  • Follow manufacturer's instructions and/or company policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3 to 5 Years supervising/managing field workers and 3 to 5 Years in the petrochemical industry.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • May require travel.
  • Comfortable using computers in a work environment.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen.
