About the Role
As a Materials Planner, you coordinate and expedite the flow of materials from suppliers and across internal departments to support production schedules and customer demand. You plan, schedule, and monitor material and production requirements while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Responsibilities- Managing and prioritizing a portfolio of customer orders while developing and maintaining production schedules aligned to demand.
- Planning and releasing production orders based on manufacturing capacity and material availability.
- Monitoring and improving key performance metrics such as inventory levels, overdue orders, and on‑time delivery.
- Partnering with Sourcing and Procurement teams to expedite materials and resolve shortages proactively.
- Leading shortage management processes including tracking, reporting, and mitigation actions.
- Facilitating communication across cross‑functional teams to address issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Executing standardized planning and manufacturing processes in line with company guidelines and best practices.
- Collaborating with Master Scheduling and Production Control teams to ensure efficient production execution.
- Serving as a key point of contact for customers or channel partners to support order fulfillment and aftermarket requirements.
- Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with 3 years of experience in Materials Planning or Procurement, Logistics and Operations.
- Have proven ability to manage multiple high‑value orders in a fast‑paced environment.
- Have strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Have experience working cross‑functionally with diverse teams.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Have proficiency in ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Have understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes including procurement, logistics, and manufacturing workflows.
- Have familiarity with production planning methodologies and continuous improvement principles such as Lean or Six Sigma.
