Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong commitment to personal safety, environmental awareness, and compliance with company safety procedures and regulations.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, and repair pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation and analytical equipment.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on low‑voltage electrical systems up to 480
VAC, including motor controls, control valves, and electrical distribution systems. - Read and interpret SWDs, P&IDs, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and ladder logic to diagnose and resolve equipment and process issues.
- Complete repair history, calibration records, modifications, and work order documentation accurately within the CMMS system and related software.
- Conduct installation, calibration, testing, and minor field design work for electrical and instrumentation systems, including conduit and tubing installation.
- Support plant operations through preventive maintenance, functional testing, factory acceptance testing, and communication of abnormal operating conditions.
- Provide technical assistance and safety oversight for contractors while ensuring compliance with site procedures and standards.
- Participate in on‑call responsibilities, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- NCCER Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an I&E Technician in a chemical plant, refinery, or similar industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience with DCS and SIS systems preferred, along with strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and instrumentation equipment.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and safe electrical work practices in industrial environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and apply strategic problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient with I&E hand tools, meters, calibration equipment, and interpreting P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams.
- Strong organizational, planning, computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and participate in on‑call rotations as needed to support plant operations.
- Capable of performing physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders/heights, working in confined spaces, wearing respiratory protection, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
