Job Description Summary
Operations Technician supporting a chemical manufacturing environment, responsible for operating and optimizing complex production systems to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. The role also includes contributing to production planning, supervising routine operational activities, and supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives in line with site standards and safety protocols.
Responsibilities- Provide operational support services and act as a first-line supervisor within a transactional operations area, ensuring adherence to established systems and protocols.
- Operate and monitor complex manufacturing systems, making process adjustments to optimize quality, safety, and productivity, including support for new product trials and identification of efficiency improvements.
- Contribute to production planning by providing accurate data and operational insights; generate, validate, and distribute reports to support decision-making.
- Supervise and coordinate a team performing routine operational activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with standards.
- Support installation and commissioning of complex systems and conduct equipment inspections with appropriate guidance to ensure operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, support emergency repairs, and carry out preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade education preferred.
- Experience working in a chemical manufacturing, process manufacturing, or industrial production environment.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing operations, operating procedures, and safety standards.
- Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production equipment and processes with minimal supervision.
- Experience coordinating activities with production, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to support operational objectives.
- Works independently to plan, prioritize, and execute daily tasks while meeting safety, quality, and production targets.
- Applies and promotes safe work practices and complies with plant policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
- Maintains accurate operational records and communicates effectively through shift handovers, reporting, and collaboration with team members.
