2nd Shift Mechanic

Full Time Manual Labor – Pasadena, TX, US

Job Summary: Rotating Machinery Services, Inc. is seeking qualified Rotating Equipment Mechanics for the 2nd shift. The role involves mechanical operations and tasks on turbo machinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Experience with steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, hot gas expanders, or oil‑free screw compressors is preferred.

Primary Role Responsibilities
  • Unit disassembly, cleaning, and inspection, with accurate data collection and recording
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of rotating equipment
  • Complete required maintenance to return equipment to operating condition per OEM specifications
  • Prepare and complete service documentation
  • Maintain clear daily work records and apply problem‑solving skills
  • Maintain shop equipment and perform regular housekeeping for safety and organization
  • Comply with safety policies, procedures, and instructions
  • Dissassemble complex equipment and document failure modes and condition of as‑received parts
  • Assist in cleaning and prepping parts for NDT and PMI examination
  • Document detailed dimensional and runout inspections of all components
  • Provide written inspection reports, including recommended repairs and replacements
  • Provide written instructions and drawings to other crafts involved in component manufacture or repair
  • Perform quality checks on customer‑furnished, manufactured, and repaired components before final assembly
  • Clean and prep parts for final assembly
  • Assemble equipment to OEM, ASME, API, or customer specifications
  • Document final sizes, clearances, and deliver a final repair report
  • Complete photo documentation and visual inspection of assemblies and spare parts
  • Act as a team player and train junior mechanics
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Utilize measuring devices and rotating equipment effectively
  • Supply required mechanical tools and measuring devices as assigned
  • Additional projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • NCCER Millwright certification preferred
  • 5–10 years of mechanic experience with pumps, gearboxes, blowers, compressors, and turbines
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment drug, alcohol, and background checks
  • Professional conduct under stressful situations
  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance and perform prolonged standing/sitting/bending/walking
  • Authorization to work in the United States
Work Environment

The position involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts. The work area is generally clean, safe, and moderate in noise, with metal particles present during machining operations.
