PRN Float Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse; RN - Pasadena, Tx

Position Summary

PRN Float Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) at Texas Oncology for the Baytown, TX and Pasadena, TX locations.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, no on‑call.

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
• Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction.
• Administer all medications and blood products using correct medication, dosage, route, time and technique.
• Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable.
• Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
• Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Level I:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Registered RN with current state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Entry‑level 0‑3 years of nursing experience, oncology preference.

Level II:

• Minimum 3 years nursing experience, oncology preferred.

Level Senior:

• Minimum 5 years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.
• Oncology certification preferred.

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology clinic environment.

Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination; standing and walking for extended periods; occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs; corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
