JOB SUMMARYThe Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides patient care and education in ambulatory clinics/areas. Under direct supervision of registered nurse, APRN, PA, physician, dentist, or podiatrist, the LVN applies the nursing process to meet physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs, assists in determining predictable healthcare needs, and coordinates care with the healthcare team to optimize patient understanding of their condition and care within the LVN scope of practice.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing - Licensure/Certification:
Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas;
Basic Life Support from a hospital‑based AHA approved program; other certificates as required by unit/service - Work Experience:
Experience in area of specialty preferred - Equipment Operated:
Computer, IV pumps, vital signs monitor, and other unit‑specific medical equipment
