Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Pasadena, Texas. This position is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with national and company standards, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Inter‑professional collaboration
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Education / Training Level I- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must maintain continuing education requirements.
- Entry level – 0–3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- In addition to Levels I and II:
- Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.

Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
