Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Pasadena, Texas. This full‑time, Monday‑Friday position has no weekend or holiday shifts and no on‑call duties. Depending on experience the role will be Level I, Level II, or Senior.

Role OverviewUnder minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with national standards and company guidelines. The RN assesses patients, teaches patients and families, provides psychosocial support, and ensures compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with standards and practices
- Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care
- Manage patient medication refill requests via the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart
- Communicate between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care as necessary
- Assist patients in locating available community resources
- Interprofessional collaboration
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Education/Training
Level I
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred
- Active RN state license and current registration with the state board of nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Maintain continuing education requirements
- Entry level – 0‑3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred
Level II
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred
Level Senior
- Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred
- Oncology certification preferred

Physical RequirementsFull range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 40 lb. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
