Med Surg Neuro-Ortho Registered Nurse (RN)

3 days per week, 7p-7a/Rotating Weekends
As a Med Surg Neuro-Ortho Registered Nurse (RN) at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, you will join an award-winning, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering top-tier clinical excellence in Pasadena, Texas. Our specialized unit provides comprehensive acute care, pre- and post-surgical monitoring, and customized rehabilitation pathways for complex patient populations—including those recovering from cranial neurosurgery, stroke, hip fractures, and intricate bone, muscle, or nerve procedures.
This department is fully supported by an integrated network of advanced diagnostic imaging, a Level III Trauma Center, dedicated pain management specialists, and extensive physical and occupational therapy services. Your work on this unit is backed by a service line highly decorated for quality and safety, featuring The Joint Commission's Primary Stroke Center Advanced Certification, the Health grades 2026 Stroke Care Excellence Award (placing us in the top 10% nationally), a continuous Five-Star rating for both Stroke Treatment and Hip Fracture Treatment, and multiple American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® Stroke quality achievement awards.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What You Will Do In Your Role:
- Coordinate the nursing care of assigned patients in the Unit in order to provide quality patient care.
- Provide professional nursing care exercising independent judgment in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
- Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
- American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
- 1-year of clinical Med Surg experience as a licensed RN in a hospital setting required.
