Work Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 7a-7p/Rotating Weekends
We are seeking a highly skilled, clinically sharp Cardiovascular Unit Registered Nurse to join our progressive heart care team at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena. Operating within our advanced, multidisciplinary CVU / Telemetry floor, you will manage high-acuity cardiac patients recovering from open-heart surgeries, stenting, pacemakers, and acute coronary events. As an accredited Chest Pain Center and certified Primary Stroke Center
, our 340+ bed facility provides the ideal environment to leverage your expertise in telemetry strip interpretation, advanced hemodynamics, and cardiac pharmacology. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
- Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required
- 1 year of clinical experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting.
