Apprentice - Buildings & Grounds Dept.

Follow routine operation work procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Education/Certification:

Class C License Pass criminal history and background check

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

Be able to operate all buildings & grounds equipment, have cement finishing skills, have knowledge of fencing, know techniques of underground drainage

Experience:

Background in required skills

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist and instruct other crew members in specific job related duties assigned
• Have a working knowledge of fencing, concrete work and underground drainage
• Be responsible for buildings & grounds equipment

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate districts functions

Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors:
Frequent prolonged and irregular hours;
Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; steady phone interactions; moderate standing, walking and bending.
