Quality Assurance Specialist
Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support quality systems, compliance, auditing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role helps ensure products, processes, and quality procedures meet ISO 9001 standards, regulatory expectations, customer requirements, and applicable valve product certification standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Ensure procedures, work instructions, and quality records meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Support internal, external, certification, and customer audits.
- Plan, conduct, and document internal audits to verify compliance and quality system effectiveness.
- Coordinate and track calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Address audit findings through corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop, review, and update SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Manage document control processes, including versioning, approvals, distribution, and employee access to current documentation.
- Support valve product certification processes, including API, ASME, and customer-specific standards.
- Verify compliance with product specifications, material certifications, and testing requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Coordinate and document Management of Change (MOC) activities affecting processes, materials, or products.
- Evaluate the impact of process or product changes on quality, safety, and compliance.
- Ensure approvals, risk assessments, and documentation are completed before implementation.
- Identify process improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, or similar tools.
- Track quality metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
- Experience with internal audits, audit documentation, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Experience managing quality documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and document control processes.
- Knowledge of calibration tracking for inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
- Ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and compliance practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with valve product certification requirements.
- Familiarity with API, ASME, or customer-specific product standards.
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, or continuous improvement methods.
- Experience supporting customer or certification audits.
