Primary Objective of PositionTo deliver prompt and excellent service to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities andJob Duties
- Greet the guests in a timely, friendly and courteous manner, based on Langham’s fine dining standards.
- Record the detail of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guests to check for accuracy. Input the order into the POS to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed.
- Confirm orders with the chefs and bartenders whenever clarification is requested.
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required.
- Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
- Provide information on wine characteristics, wine production and types of wine to guests.
- Prepare and serve wine using wine service techniques/etiquette.
- Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Check the guest’s check for accuracy of the charges and number of guests were charged, present the check to the guest promptly, and collect appropriate payment and self‑cashier.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.
- Pre‑bus tables as next course becomes available.
- Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
- Replace soiled table linens with fresh supply.
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs for the restaurant such as holidays and weekends.
- Other duties as assigned by Managers.
- High intensity and a stressful environment as it pertains to cover counts.
- Must be able to carry 3+ plates at a time of weights up to 35 pounds.
- Standing for 90% of work shift is required.
- Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.
- Knowledge and identity of food items.
- Able to anticipate guest’s needs.
- Efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Must be self‑directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills at all times.
- Ability to access and input information into Micros system.
- Ability to exert physical effort in transporting trays and wine buckets from service area to guest.
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work cohesively with co‑workers as part of a team.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
