Automatic Pump & Equipment Company is expanding our presence throughout the Beaumont and Houston markets! We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to drive growth in both municipal and industrial sectors. Founded in 1951, Automatic Pump is a family-owned company specializing in supplying pumps, controls, and related industrial equipment, with a long-standing reputation for technical expertise and strong customer relationships.
This role includes responsibility for developing new accounts while also taking over and strengthening relationships with our established customer base. If you have strong sales experience in municipal or industrial equipment—and ideally pumps or rotating equipment—this is a high-impact, career-building opportunity. Key Responsibilities- Grow sales in municipal and industrial markets across Beaumont and Houston
- Develop new accounts through proactive outreach, site visits, and relationship-building
- Manage and expand existing accounts to maximize long-term revenue
- Promote and represent our full range of pumps, controls, and equipment solutions
- Assist customers with product selection, sizing, and application guidance
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate quoting, delivery, and customer satisfaction
- Attend job sites, pre-bid meetings, and customer facilities as needed
- Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and CRM updates
- Represent Automatic Pump with professionalism, industry knowledge, and customer-focused service
Required:
- Demonstrated sales experience in municipal and/or industrial equipment markets
- Strong understanding of engineered products, mechanical systems, or related technical fields
- Ability to build relationships with operators, engineers, purchasing agents, and contractors
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a large territory with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory
Preferred:
- 3-5 years of relative sales experience
- Direct experience selling pumps, rotating equipment, or fluid-handling systems
- Experience using inventory management systems
- Existing relationships within municipal utilities, engineering firms, and industrial facilities
- Familiarity with bidding procedures, procurement processes, and engineered product sales cycles
- A strong, stable company with long-term customer relationships across Texas
