Safety Monitor

Provide for the safety of the students, faculty, and staff. Assist in implementing procedures that will ensure the protection of the campus personnel and property.

Qualifications:

• Education/Certification:
  
  High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to work well with high school age students and educators
• Clear and valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

• Demonstrate interest in and aptitude for work to be performed
• Desire and ability to work with students, parent, faculty, and staff

Experience:

• Police and/or security training or experience preferred

Major

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Patrol assigned campus.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
• Assist visitors as they enter the campus.
• Maintains proper condition of parking lot carts and two-way radios, if assigned.
• Monitors campus on staff development days.
• Reports discipline problems to campus administrators.
• Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor, and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned throughout the district.

Equipment Used:

• Ability to use security equipment and drive a golf cart.

Mental Demands:

• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); coordinate campus support functions; maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; ability to assist in controlling sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
• May be subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions.
• Work outdoors in varying climate conditions.
