Perform DOT annual inspections and preventative maintenance on chemical tanker trailers
Diagnose and repair air brake systems, ABS systems, and suspension components
Inspect and repair tanker barrel integrity, baffles, weld seams, and structural components
Service and repair valves, manways, gaskets, vapor recovery systems, and discharge systems
Perform pressure/vacuum testing and leak detection
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems (if equipped)
Conduct aluminum and stainless‑steel welding/fabrication as needed
Maintain proper documentation of inspections and repairs
Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and hazmat regulations
Maintain safe shop practices and follow OSHA guidelines
Required Qualifications3+ years of heavy‑duty trailer or tanker mechanic experience preferred
Knowledge of DOT tanker requirements and hazmat regulations
Experience working on chemical or food‑grade tankers strongly preferred
Welding experience (TIG/MIG preferred for stainless/aluminum)
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop/outdoor environments
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
