Summary
A Field Service Technician – IVA III will be skilled and understand the purpose and principles of operating gate, globe, and check valves. In this role, you will be responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing, adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, troubleshooting, inspection, and replacement of GGC style valves.
Responsibilities- All additional job responsibilities of a Field Service Technician - IVA I & II
- Support Field Service Technician - IVA I & II employees through mentoring and on- the-job (OJT) training
- Performs final quality inspection of valve and/or equipment
- Potentially assume role as Field Supervisor
- Extensive Knowledge of applicable code requirements
- Fundamental selling skills
- Performs repair, service, maintenance, and assembly operations while maintaining safety and quality as a top priority in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment
- Demonstrates sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are identified or detected when servicing valves in the field
- Ensures all products repaired/assembled meet the quality standards in accordance with procedures, engineering specifications, drawings, and work instructions
- Performs functional tests as required
- Collects data and documents and prepares detailed reports for customer review, billing records, and expense reporting
- Assumes responsibility and handles multiple tasks under potentially stressful and hazardous conditions
- Adheres to all policies and procedures
- Practices safe work habits to ensure an injury free environment
- Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools
- Climbs and works at various heights, sometimes working in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position
- Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
- Be on the job and available to work overtime, at times for extended periods of time based on seasonal customer demands
- Operate motor vehicle, as required
- Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required
- Any job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
- HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
- Associates degree preferred
- 5 or more years of industry experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of gate, globe, and check valve experience
- Previous experience operating machine equipment
- Meets all IVA Technician I & II qualifications and requirements
- Proficient in IVA Technician I & II responsibilities
- Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
- Completed QC assessment
- Experienced trainer of IVA Technicians Level I & II
- Working knowledge and proficiency of leading manufacturer GGC valve lines
- Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage people
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and other employees
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and correspondence that are clear and intelligible
- Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Customer driven/focused
- Team oriented and willing to lead others
- High energy, detail oriented
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings/prints and procedure manuals
- Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected

- Strong safety record and knowledge of safety rules and practices
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed to support customer requirements and seasonal business volume
- Strong history of dependability and reliability
- Works mostly autonomously with little supervision
- Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines
- Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
- Willing and able to lift and work with personal protective equipment, including emergency breathing apparatus
- Lifting: up to 50 pounds
