Overview
Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking forward‑thinking HVAC Technicians to support our fast‑growing HVAC business in North America. Candidates will provide high‑quality service, troubleshooting, commissioning, and support for residential and ducted HVAC products.
Responsibilities- Provide customers with the highest level of service to resolve facility inefficiencies and service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
- Recommend and quote solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket services for residential and/or ducted products, air‑cooled and water‑cooled chillers, AHU’s, or rooftop ducted units.
- Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers system components, and other HVAC system components.
- Member of or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience with residential and/or ducted HVAC products, air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, AHU’s or rooftop ducted units.
- Strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to repair compressors, turbines, and system components.
- Willingness to travel 10–20% to support branch customers for startup, commissioning, and aftermarket services.
- Ability to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain problems, causes, and corrective actions to customers.
- Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply on the job.
- Prioritize safety in all activities.
- Universal EPA refrigerant license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.
Pay Range: $40.50/hr to $45.00/hr the hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
