Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items.
As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service, recommend and quote to support solutions, and assist with upselling opportunities.
Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites, participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy, and work under coaching and mentorship to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues and customer needs. You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues, meet attendance requirements for required Union training for the first year, and provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently.
WhatWe Look For
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
- Self‑starter with ability to eventually work independently.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: 1–2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.
Pay Range: $21–32 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
