Painter - Austin Industrial (Pasadena, TX)

Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
- Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.
- Work at heights with no fear.
- May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
- May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
- Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications required for this position:
Education – no minimum education requirements.
Experience – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
Certification/License: NCCER preferred not required and a Valid Driver's License and TWIC card.

Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.
Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
