A Skid Steer /Mini
-Ex Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining skid steer loaders to perform excavation, grading, material handling, and other construction or site-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate skid steer loaders and other compact construction equipment to perform tasks such as digging, grading, trenching, back filling, lifting, and material handling on construction or landscaping sites.
  • Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and cut/fill information to ensure accurate execution of sitework.
  • Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections to identify mechanical issues, defects, or safety concerns, and report them promptly.
  • Maintain equipment by greasing, cleaning, and performing basic servicing to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Follow safety protocols including OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety plans to minimize risks.
  • Assist with general labor tasks such as site cleanup, traffic control, or snow plowing when equipment operation is not required.
  • Communicate effectively with foremen, crew members, truck drivers, and other operators to coordinate work and meet production goals.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience operating skid steers and preferably other heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, or backhoes.
  • Ability to read site plans and use layout tools like grade lasers and rods.
  • Physical stamina to stand, stoop, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and safety awareness to prevent accidents and protect equipment.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is often required, along with a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass drug and background checks.
