Job Description

Position responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers will ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.

Background check:
This role involves contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash and payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise. A review of criminal history is required to protect the company, its customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner
  • Load customer orders properly on the truck
  • Ensure appropriate forms are completed
  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers in a safe, timely manner
  • Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints from customers
  • Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
  • Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Operate equipment and machines such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Perform other tasks in the store, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders and waiting on customers
Minimum Requirements
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship for an employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) from a DOT licensed "medical examiner" listed on the FMCSA National Registry, or willingness to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment
  • Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one (1) year of experience working as a delivery driver
  • At least one (1) year of experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu‑hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts)
  • Previous experience selling paint and paint-related products
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
