The Role

Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Design layout of machines within plant facilities to ensure efficient and productive layout. Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Must Have
  • 5 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree; 0 years with a PhD.
Nice to Have
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Experience with Engineering Software (AutoCAD or similar) and machine programming
  • Excellent communication skills and listening skills that empower ISG to respond to the voice of the customer and advocate on behalf of the R&D/PT organization
  • Ability to “sell” ISG’s value and to run projects as a service business like any other well-run professional services business
  • Ability to field waterfront issues as they emerge
  • Ability to develop and manage budget and schedule of individual project line items
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Analytical mindset, but also creativity to seek, encourage, and find non-traditional approaches that have historically ‘boxed-in’ manufacturing
  • Ability to “think outside the box” to develop creative solutions to problem statements
  • Data analytic skills with experience developing tracking/monitoring tools such as ROI, performance, cost, etc.
  • Self-starter and motivated to solve problems and able to manage projects with little supervision from manager
  • Comfortable working alone but also in a team environment where cross collaboration is critical to executing tasks
