Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer 4 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years experience
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.
• Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
• Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Seeking an individual with a background in Pipe, Machanical, machinery and HVAC Design and who is also proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.
• A complete understanding of ship design practices and blueprint reading skills are required.
• Applicant will be directly involved in the Quality Assurance and development of Marine drawings and other products associated with U.S. Naval ship modifications and overhauls.
• Applicant will also be responsible for for ensuring all techincal requirements are fully compled into deliverable products while following applicable procedures and standards.
• Familiarity with all componets of US Navy Pipe, Macanical, Machinery and HVAC is preferred.
• One that possess an understanding in ship design, blueprint reading and Quality Assurance.
REQUIRED
EDUCATION:
Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 5/40, workweek 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
