Designer, CAD​/ AutoCAD​/ Mechanical Design

Full‑Time, Shift: 1st, Travel: 10%–25% of the time. U.S. citizenship required. Relocation assistance not available.

Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilize computer‑aided design equipment and graphic tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA. Gather information, conduct studies, compute calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals. Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups to ensure ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.

• High school diploma or GED and five years of experience, or
• Associate’s degree or other two‑year technical degree in a related discipline and one year of experience.

• Prior knowledge of Planning Yard processes and procedures and how this organization functions.
• Full understanding of Planning Yard Naval Design (structure, foundations, and outfitting).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 2D Design.
