The RoleEngineer Design 3 will provide cost, schedule, and earned value support to the Naval Architecture Cost Center CAMs. This role helps maintain compliant cost control systems, monitors cost and schedule performance, and ensures alignment with EVMS and government requirements.
Responsibilities- Preparing cost and schedule analyses
- Supporting monthly VAR compliance reviews
- Assisting with internal surveillance activities
- Coordinating EVMS training
- Maintaining earned value metrics
- Supporting I preparation
- Designing major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
- Developing basic data and preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal
- Investigating pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost
- Coordinating with other organizations affected by design development
- Making layouts of complex assemblies and detailing parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures
- Checking completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning
- Identifying design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommending revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers
- 5 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
- 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
- 0 years with a PhD
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools
- Working knowledge of Visual Basic or similar programming languages used for automation and process improvement
- Experience with programming for data manipulation, reporting, or workflow optimization
- Prior experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Solid understanding of cost, schedule, and performance measurement concepts
