Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer 1 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)Associate degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 0 years experience.
Position ResponsibilitiesDesigns components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD and MS Office applications. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.
Candidates should demonstrate strong problem solving skills and the ability to work in a team. The ideal candidate is proficient in AutoCAD, has strong work ethic, analytical skills, and communication skills. Familiarity or interest in database tools or systems used in engineering environments, especially those that help relate data from various sources, is a strong plus.
Required EducationAssociate degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline.
Work HoursFull-Time 5/40, workweek. 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
