GENERAL FUNCTION:
Implements testing of all vessel equipment and systems, up to and including sea trials, in compliance with customer requirements.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
Conducts and completes all testing and sea trials prior to acceptance, by the customer. Responds to all inquiries of customers, and agents of regulatory bodies concerning vessel testing.
Maintains current documents of testing for all projects. Submits standard and special status reports as assigned.
Addresses deficiencies evidenced as a result of testing and works with Company engineers to correct deficiencies.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESConsiderable knowledge of shipbuilding processes and industry standards and regulations. Good knowledge of testing equipment and measuring devices and the ability to instruct inspectors on their proper operation. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and develop sound, thorough inspection programs. Ability to effectively supervise and to interface effectively with customers, management and employees in all areas within the division.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING1-2 year experience in Electrical Testing duties or any equivalent combination of Electrical experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
