About the Role

Join Bollinger as a Designer A Structure and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of marine structural design. Based in Pascagoula, MS, you will transform technical specifications into detailed engineered drawings, collaborating closely with expert teams and stakeholders. This position is ideal for driven professionals passionate about design excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous professional development in the shipbuilding industry.

Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive structural component designs using advanced CAD and Ship Constructor techniques
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and external disciplines to ensure design accuracy and consistency
  • Review and verify technical drawings, including periodic site visits to production areas
  • Maintain strict adherence to company CAD standards and design protocols
  • Integrate vendor-supplied technical data into project designs
  • Apply industry-standard materials and methods, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (ABS, USCG, DNV)
  • Incorporate feedback from clients, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders
  • Support engineering change management by following internal control procedures (DDNs, ECNs, CCRs)
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in Ship Constructor and AutoCAD software
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles and CAD drafting
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing methods and marine structural engineering
  • Familiarity with technical drawing review and 3D modeling
  • Experience with regulatory compliance within shipbuilding environments
  • Completion of at least 2 years of college-level coursework in Industrial Technology or related disciplines, or equivalent hands-on experience
Preferred Skills
  • Practical experience with regulatory compliance (ABS/USCG/DNV)
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering change management processes (ECN, DDN, CCR)
  • Advanced skills in structural detailing and shipbuilding design
