Job Summary

The Front Office Manager will oversee the daily management of our hotel reception area. The individual must have strong communication skills, a friendly attitude and a high level of personal organization to ensure the smooth performance of front desk duties.

How You Will Create the Extraordinary
  • Participates in the selection of front office personnel.
  • Trains, cross-trains, and retrains all front office personnel.
  • Schedules the front office staff
  • Supervises workloads during shifts.
  • Evaluates the job performance of the front desk team members.
  • Maintains working relationships and communicates with all Team members.
  • Verifies that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
  • Resolves guest related problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
  • Updates group information. Maintains, monitors, and prepares group requirements.
  • Relays information to appropriate personnel.
  • Works within the allotted budget for the front office.
  • Receives information from management and passes on pertinent details to the team members as needed.
  • Checks cashiers in and out and verifies banks and deposits at the end of each shift.
  • Enforces all cash handling policies.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office team members.
  • Upholds the hotel's commitment to hospitality.
What You Will Need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years' experience working in hotel management
  • Experience with office machines (such as computers, fax machines and printers)
  • Good practical knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, and proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
