Job SummaryThe Front Office Manager will oversee the daily management of our hotel reception area. The individual must have strong communication skills, a friendly attitude and a high level of personal organization to ensure the smooth performance of front desk duties.
How You Will Create the Extraordinary- Participates in the selection of front office personnel.
- Trains, cross-trains, and retrains all front office personnel.
- Schedules the front office staff
- Supervises workloads during shifts.
- Evaluates the job performance of the front desk team members.
- Maintains working relationships and communicates with all Team members.
- Verifies that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
- Resolves guest related problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
- Updates group information. Maintains, monitors, and prepares group requirements.
- Relays information to appropriate personnel.
- Works within the allotted budget for the front office.
- Receives information from management and passes on pertinent details to the team members as needed.
- Checks cashiers in and out and verifies banks and deposits at the end of each shift.
- Enforces all cash handling policies.
- Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office team members.
- Upholds the hotel's commitment to hospitality.
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years' experience working in hotel management
- Experience with office machines (such as computers, fax machines and printers)
- Good practical knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, and proficiency in English (oral and written)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
