IT Specialist – Singing River Health System
Shift: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. On call by rotation.
Location:
Singing River Pascagoula Hospital.
The IT Specialist is the first point of contact and will provide technical assistance, maintenance, and repair to computer systems and hardware, as well as network problem resolution for all Singing River Health System customers. The role involves guiding users through step‑by‑step solutions, answering questions or resolving computer issues in person, via telephone, remotely, or by email, and escalating system issues when necessary.
Responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and software to ensure optimal performance, using tools and following company procedures for handling support requests.
Provide end‑user online/phone support, troubleshoot and repair PC hardware, network, and software issues; install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software; assist users through step‑by‑step solutions over various channels; resolve or escalates system issues; document support requests and follow company procedures and policies.
Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in a computer‑related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing end‑user online/phone support and PC hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to teach customers over the phone.
- Proficiency with desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word), and other office technology.
- Knowledge of networking, internet technologies, and basic troubleshooting tools.
- Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask in complex situations.
- Ability to travel within the SRHS service area and provide own transportation.
Work is moderately active, involving sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office or facility and travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Requires minimal force to lift or carry objects, repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions, visual acuity to focus on computer monitors and printed materials, and the ability to maintain extended periods of work without undue fatigue.
Work schedules may change according to hospital needs.
Demonstrate keen mental faculties, assessment and decision‑making abilities, emotional stability, and the capacity to work under pressure while meeting deadlines. Requires attention to detail, multitasking in complex situations, strong communication skills, and maintaining collaborative relationships within SRHS and with external organizations.
Special DemandsSuperior customer service skills and professional etiquette, proficient computer knowledge and use of office technology, appropriate clinical judgment with a patient population of all ages, ability to achieve successful outcomes when handling difficult situations and customers, and ability to teach customers over the phone.
